Virgin Media offers some of the cheapest mobile phone deals on the market while along with excellent coverage and superfast speeds. This is because Virgin Mobile deals piggyback off the EE and Vodafone network.
If you’re already a Virgin Media customer, you’ll benefit from exclusive discounts on mobile phone contracts. If you’re not, Virgin Mobile deals for new customers offer great value. Enjoy a handset deal with a choice of the latest smartphones, or a SIM-only deal if you already have a mobile phone.
Virgin Mobile deals offer the latest mobile phones on a 24-month or 36-month contract. All handset deals come with a SIM including unlimited texts and minutes and a choice of following GB data plans:
In many cases, there are no upfront costs to pay on monthly mobile contracts, so you won’t need to pay out a large sum in one go.
The most popular Virgin Mobile deals are on iPhones with an unlimited data allowance. Virgin offers most Apple iPhone devices, including the Apple iPhone 12 and the Apple iPhone 13. Other models include:
Virgin iPhone deals often come with second- or third-generation Airpods, which is a great deal if you were already thinking of purchasing some yourself. You can also purchase an iPhone without Airpods, which will save you between 50p and £6 a month.
Samsung Galaxy deals are also a favourite among Virgin customers. Virgin Mobile offers the latest handsets in the Samsung series, including Samsung S22 and Samsung S21. The provider also offers the following mobiles:
Virgin offers more smartphones from less well-known providers, including Fairphone, OPPO, Sony, VIVO and Xiaomi. While these phones are typically cheaper than Apple and Samsung devices, they still offer similar features, and have been tried and tested. The handsets that Virgin offers from these brands include:
Fairphone
OPPO
Sony
vivo
Xiaomi
Virgin SIM-only deals offer data rollover, free data usage when messaging on WhatsApp, Facebook and Twitter, and unlimited texts and minutes. Virgin Mobile also offers 5G SIMs at no extra cost but you need to have a 5G-enabled phone to get these connection speeds.
New customers have the choice of a 12-month contract or 24-month contract and each month they get a fixed data allowance over the course of the contract. Virgin Mobile offers many deals on SIM cards, but its star offers include:
SIMs with unlimited GB plans are also available.
Virgin Mobile has partnered with F-Secure to be able to offer customers the award-winning Virgin Media Internet Security system. This security system keeps you and your devices safe when surfing the internet by protecting it from malware and other viruses. Virgin offers this for free for the first three months and once the trial is over you’re able to add it to your deal for an extra monthly charge.
When you’re on a Virgin Mobile unlimited data plan, you’re able to use your device as a personal hotspot for tethering. This means you can connect other devices to your phone to use the internet when you don’t have any WiFi.
Virgin Media offers data rollover, so any unused data doesn’t go to waste. If you don’t use up all of your data in one month, you can use what you have left over during the next month. The only thing to keep in mind is that rolled over data only lasts one month.
Virgin Media rewards customers up to £50 in cash when they refer a friend to one of the following services:
Virgin Media is a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) that uses another network’s 4G and 5G. Customers using Virgin 4G are in fact using the EE network, while 5G customers are connected to the Vodafone network. Virgin piggybacks on these two networks’ service at the time of writing, but is in the process of switching all 4G plans over to Vodafone in 2022.
You can create your Virgin Media service by combining one or more services, including TV, broadband, home phone and mobile services. Bundling your services could be cheaper than getting them from separate providers, so you may want to consider it. With a Virgin bundle, you’ll also benefit from Volt if you sign up with O2. Here are Virgin Media’s three main bundles:
Bundle | Monthly price | Contract length | Monthly price |
---|---|---|---|
Volt Fibre Broadband + phone | M200 Fibre Broadband; 10GB O2 SIM; Inclusive weekend calls | 18 months | £37 a month |
Bigger Volt Bundle | M500 Fibre Broadband; 10GB O2 SIM; 190+ TV channels; Inclusive weekend calls | 18 months | £57 a month |
Ultimate Bundle | Gig1 Fibre Broadband; O2 SIM with unlimited data; 23+ channels; Inclusive anytime calls | 18 months | £89 a month |
It’s worth noting that these deals are separate from Virgin Mobile’s offer, involving instead a partnership with O2.
Roam in the EU free of charge with any Virgin Mobile plan thanks to Roam Like Home. Unfortunately, Virgin doesn’t offer inclusive non-EU roaming, nor the option of paying a daily fee. If you roam in a non-EU country, you’ll be charged £12.50 per MB.
